Not only did I get a pile of books in the mail, but while in San Diego I hit up a few of their Little Free Libraries and found a few books.  Book Blogger Hop is a weekly ( on Fridays) hop that asks a bookish question. It is hosted Ramblings of A Coffee Addict Do you have an online calendar to keep track of your reviews and posts or do you print out a calendar or list?  I have tried several times to keep an online calendar and just can't make myself do it. I am old school and love to have one in hand. When I first started keeping a planner, I used a Leuchtturm1917. I loved the flexibility it gave me to create my own pages, for exactly what I needed, but as I got busier, it got harder to keep up with. Now I use a Work-Life Balance Planner from Barnes & Noble. It is a 17-month calendar that has both a full month to view along with individual days that have plenty of room for me to write things. The day is divided up between WORK and LIFE..so I can keep things such as appointments to doctors, etc, from getting lost in my blogging plans. I just got home from two weeks' vacation...you know fun in the sun, playing in the Pacific Ocean, taking care of a kid with a stomach virus, figuring out who stole our credit card information and charged a bunch of crap on it...all the fun stuff. I have had a really good book month, but I image it will start to slow down due to being a busy season for me with the Moonbaby shop. One of the reasons I had such a great reading month is that we took a road trip to California and I had a lot of time trapped in a car listening to or reading books.  I love Historical Fiction, it is one of my favorite genres and always has been. But recently I feel like the only Historica Fiction out there takes place during WWII.  Don't get me wrong, as a Jewish person, the WWII period is a tragic reminder of our history and past, and I appreciate that people remember and write about it because it is something that does not need to be forgotten, but there is also part of me that thinks people are glamorizing the tragedy. I don't know, maybe it is just me. Anyway, I wanted to share five historical fiction books that can be read instead of the WWII that seems to fill the shelving of your local bookstore.
