Two Girls Monthly Picks...Four Books Hitting The Shelves In February We Want To Read

Who is ready for a new month? I know I am! Is it only me who felt like January was a LONG month that would never end??

We found a few books that we would like to get our hands on this month, BUT...we are both trying really hard NOT to buy books this year and read off our shelves...like everyone we know, they are full!
Not to say we won't sneak on down to the local book store or do some late-night shopping via Amazon, we did say we are TRYING!

THE PARIS APARTMENT BY LUCY FOLEY

Hardcover320 pages
Expected publication: February 22nd 2022 by William Morrow

I really enjoyed Foley's last book The Guest List and I have yet to read the Hunting Party, but I do want to read The Paris Apartment and see if she can keep my interest. I was really hoping this would have been a BOTM selection so I could feel less guilty if I bought it haha

Summary:
Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he’s not there.

The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother’s situation, and the more questions she has. Ben’s neighbors are an eclectic bunch, and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her past, but it’s starting to look like it’s Ben’s future that’s in question.

The socialite – The nice guy – The alcoholic – The girl on the verge – The concierge

Everyone’s a neighbor. Everyone’s a suspect. And everyone knows something they’re not telling

HOUSE OF SKY AND BREATH BY SARAH J MAAS

Hardcover768 pages
Expected publication: February 15th 2022 by Bloomsbury Publishing

Number one on Ro's list this month ( you can always tell it's hers by the large amount of pages ) House of Sky and Breath is the second installment of the Crescent City series.

SUMMARY:

Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar are trying to get back to normal―they may have saved Crescent City, but with so much upheaval in their lives lately, they mostly want a chance to relax. Slow down. Figure out what the future holds.

The Asteri have kept their word so far, leaving Bryce and Hunt alone. But with the rebels chipping away at the Asteri’s power, the threat the rulers pose is growing. As Bryce, Hunt, and their friends get pulled into the rebels’ plans, the choice becomes clear: stay silent while others are oppressed, or fight for what’s right. And they’ve never been very good at staying silent.

In this sexy, action-packed sequel to the #1 bestseller House of Earth and Blood, Sarah J. Maas weaves a captivating story of a world about to explode―and the people who will do anything to save it

FINLAY DONOVAN KNOCKS 'EM DEAD BY ELLE COSIMANO

Hardcover368 pages
Published February 1st 2022 by Minotaur Books

Just take one look through bookstagram today and you will know that this one has just hit the shelves, it is EVERYWHERE. The second book in the very popular Finlay Donovan series will keep you laughing

SUMMARY:

Finlay Donovan is - once again - struggling to finish her next novel and keep her head above water as a single mother of two. On the bright side, she has her live-in nanny and confidant Vero to rely on, and the only dead body she's dealt with lately is that of her daughter's pet goldfish.

On the not-so-bright side, someone out there wants her ex-husband, Steven, out of the picture. Permanently. Whatever else Steven maybe, he's a good father, but saving him will send her down a rabbit hole of soccer moms disguised as hit-women, and a little bit more involvement with the Russian mob than she'd like.

Meanwhile, Vero's keeping secrets and Detective Nick Anthony seems determined to get back into her life. He may be a hot cop, but Finlay's first priority is preventing her family from sleeping with the fishes...and if that means bending a few laws then so be it.

With her next book's deadline looming and an ex-husband to keep alive, Finlay is quickly coming to the end of her rope. She can only hope there isn't a noose at the end of it....

THE NEW GIRL BY JESSE Q SUTANTO

Paperback368 pages
Published February 1st 2022 by Sourcebooks Fire

I loved Sutanto's adult Auntie books and this YA gave off some slight Dark Academia vibes so it instantly made it onto my want list.

SUMMARY:

Lia Setiawan has never really fit in. When she wins a full ride to the prestigious Draycott Academy on a track scholarship, she's determined to make it work even though she's never felt more out of place. But on her first day there she witnesses a girl being forcefully carried away by campus security. Her new schoolmates and teachers seem unfazed, but it leaves her unsure of what she's gotten herself into. As she uncovers the secrets of Draycott, complete with a corrupt teacher, a golden boy who isn't what he seems, and a blackmailer determined to get her thrown out, she's not sure if she can trust anyone--especially when the threats against her take a deadly turn.

That is all we have this month, we tried not to look around too much since we are not supposed to even be buying!
