Salon Sunday #2- Time passed to quickly for me this past week

Why is it that when you grow older time seems to speed up? Remember when you were a child and summer vacation flew by, or when you were sitting in that last class waiting for the hand of the clock to hit 3 and it seemed like it never moved? I have needed that slowing of time this week, as it has passed so quickly leaving me no time to finish everything I had planned.

I am still struggling along on the same books I have been reading all month ( I make it sound like it's the end of the month instead of the end of the first week LOL ). I am enjoying them, I have just had little time to sit. I am a bit behind on my reread of Cassandra Clares The Mortal Instruments, and The Lost Boys of Montauk is ALMOST there. I was able to finish my audible book of Deception while I got some ironing in during the week ( such an exciting life I lead )

They came and measured the house for siding on Friday, I am scared to get the quote on the price, he said..." This is a lot of house " I finally picked out my color choice, going with the Cypress. I really liked Nantucket, but it was more gray than blue and so far, everyone who has painted on the block has used some form of gray. I like it, but I feel it is a bit trendy.

We took the day off yesterday and went to OKC to meet up with friends. We ate at Cattleman's Steak House in the Stockyards, which is a bit of a historic eating place there and is always voted the best place to eat steak in the state.

From there we went to the 45th Infantry Museum. During WWII they liberated Dachau Concentration Camp.

I enjoyed bits and bobs of it, I can only look at so many guns before they all start to look the same. They did have several displays that I did find interesting that concerned Hitler. They had one of his capes and a picture of him in it. He was surprisingly a small man, for some reason I figured him to be bigger..behind the cape was the banner that was used in his funeral...

There was also an entire room dedicated to Dachau, which had a film that I watched while my husband and friends went to look at more guns!

I hope all of you have had a great week and have gotten in a bit of reading. I plan to today between laundry loads and after getting some candles made for a show I have coming up. It is raining ( at least for a bit ) and it is the perfect day to get lost in a book. See you next week!

  1. I got almost no reading done last week, and this week is also starting slow. Good luck to you in your reading. Mortal Instruments sounds great.

I'm eager to see what your new siding looks like. I bet it will be transformative.

    Have a lovely week!

  3. Time is weird. An 8-hour workday feels like it’s 1000 hours, but my days off fly by. I don’t have enough time off to get everything done! The museum trip seems interesting, but I agree that all guns look alike after a while. I felt the same way about the airplane museum. They’re all . . . just planes.

  5. I had a week like that where time just seemed to have dissolved. They become more frequent the older you get I think

Wishing you a great reading week
