It has been since October that I have had any fun with all the weekly things I do here on the blog and I am so glad I am back! So let's get right into what I am reading!

NIGHT SHIFT BY ALEX FINLAY

I really enjoyed Alex Finlay's previous book Every Last Fear, so when I saw Night Shift on Net Galley I knew I would want to read it. I am reading this on my kindle so I am a bit slower at finishing it due to mostly reading it at night when I do not want to bother my husband with lights being on...I mean I have to be nice, he gets up early to go to work. He tells me it doesn't bother him, but I feel like it is a nice thing to do!

Here is the summary:

It’s New Year’s Eve 1999. Y2K is expected to end in chaos: planes falling from the sky, elevators plunging to earth, world markets collapsing. A digital apocalypse. None of that happens. But at a Blockbuster Video in Linden, New Jersey, four teenage girls working the night shift are attacked. Only one survives. Police quickly identify a suspect who flees and is never seen again.

ANATOMY: A LOVE STORY BY DANA SCHWARTZ

I am listening to this on audio and am not very far in just yet, but it has been interesting. A YA Historical fiction about a girl who wants to be a surgeon in the 1800s. I will admit, it is the cover that drew me in, I love the velvet-looking red dress that forms a heart.

Summary:

Edinburgh, 1817. 

Hazel Sinnett is a lady who wants to be a surgeon more than she wants to marry. 

Jack Currer is a resurrection man who’s just trying to survive in a city where it’s too easy to die. 

When the two of them have a chance encounter outside the Edinburgh Anatomist’s Society, Hazel thinks nothing of it at first. But after she gets kicked out of renowned surgeon Dr. Beecham’s lectures for being the wrong gender, she realizes that her new acquaintance might be more helpful than she first thought. Because Hazel has made a deal with Dr. Beecham: if she can pass the medical examination on her own, the university will allow her to enroll. Without official lessons, though, Hazel will need more than just her books – she’ll need bodies to study, corpses to dissect.

LORE BY ALEXANDRA BRACKEN

Oh, how I am not a fan of long books. my mind shuts down and goes at a slower pace than it usually does when I read something over 400 pages. But I love Greek Mythology so I had to give Lore a try. I see it everywhere on bookstagram and I love the cover shot of Medusa so I just could not pass it up. I am sure this will be on my reading list for a couple more weeks unless of course I just get a day where I have nothing to do...( that seems like an impossible task here lately )

Summary:

I am not going to post books that I read....I have read a few since I last posted, and as far as what I plan to read next? I am not sure about that either, I have made a bit of a change in my reading this year, where I just am going to let my moods guide me when I am done with my previous book, but we all know, that I will have obligations from publishers I will have to work in LOL.
