Sunday Salon: A Very Boring Week Of Nothing...
The Sunday Salon is hosted by Readerbuzz
Life here has been very mundane ...VERY.
We have been remodeling our downstairs, and stopped for the holidays and have yet to get started again. It seems it is always something. ALWAYS. We have this little room off our living room, I have NO clue what it is for...we call it the damn room, because it can't really be used for a damn thing. Maybe back in 1900 it had use, but we havent figured it out lol. Anyway to stopped there a few days before Thanksgiving, and sine then. I have closed a small booth I had in a store for my business, so I could just work on my website, everything from my booth went in there while I began to put it up. I had to clean out an upstairs bedroom to make that my new space, so things up there are all in the hall. Then this week, my daughter decided to move out of the apartment she had with her boyfriend and move into a house by herself, guess who had to move her? Right me and my husband. In the middle of that, Atlas came down with a stomach bug and I spent an entire day washing sheets and duvets and duvet covers etc... I am about to have a breakdown in the middle of my very unorganized, messy house.
So reading? Nope, it has been really slow. Watching TV? The news in the morning as I am getting my husband ready for work. It does play in the background of my life right now and I occasionally seem to catch a snippet here and there. I am hoping to slow life down a bit this week. My house will probably still be a mess, its going to take awhile to get it in order, but I am going to sit down for a dinner I cooked this week with the family, I will watch a movie with Atlas and Rich and I will read some.
Hopefully.
Actually the main reason I went ahead and wrote, it wasn't to whine at you, which I totally did up there and didn't need to, but was to show you this cute picture of Atlas.
The towns Lions Club gave the third graders dictionaries, and he has been carrying it around and reading it. We only live about 3 blocks from school, but to get some fresh air and take a break I walk him to school and pick him up. I stop a block from his school, where there is plenty of shade, it gets warm at times and I hate heat. Friday he walked out of school with the dictionary open reading it until he got to a point the sidewalk is a bit uneven. I tried to get a picture of him walking and reading but by the time I got him zoomed in etc on my phone he had already put it down to pay attention to walking. It was also Free Dress Day so he was able to wear something other than a uniform. He loves to read and I have even stated sharing his books on my Stacking The Shelves post, which along with many other blog posts I didn't get to this week!!
Everyone have a great week, and I will have something interesting, hopefully to write about next Sunday! Be sure to drop your link so I can come by and visit
I quickly reach a point where I just cannot function if my space gets too cluttered and disorganized. I hope you're able to get life back to normal soon!
ReplyDeleteSpring often sparks a need in me to organize. I spent a big part of yesterday redoing my pantry.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what that room was originally for, but my sister has something like it in her old house in Waco!
Cute photo. I read a dictionary when I was a kid. I don't think I retained much of it.
ReplyDeleteCan the room be used for books?! That is what I would try to use it for. Or a secret hideout for your son?! Good luck with getting back into everything.
ReplyDeleteCute photo! Sounds like that room would be perfect for a reading nook!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had quite the week! I hope your daughter is all settled in her new place and Atlas is feeling better. I love that he loves reading so much--even a dictionary. My daughter would do something like that too. :-) I can relate in terms of needing to get back to household projects and organizing stuff. My spare bedroom has become the catch all room for everything I don't know what to do with and I really need to get in there and clean it out. As it is, we have some of my daughter's things sitting in our hallway from when we put in her desk and bookshelves late last fall. I hope you have a good week and things calm down for you!
ReplyDeleteHaha! The “damn” room. Hopefully, you’ll find a use for it. Walk-in closet? I am cleaning out my closet, so like you, I have stuff in hallways. I understand. And good for Atlas!
