GIRLS AT THE BOOKSTORE READ ALONG : THE DARK LORD'S GUIDE TO DATING PT 3
Welcome to our third stop on The Dark Lord’s Guide to Dating (and Other War Crimes) readalong! Just one more to go...I hope you have been enjoying it, I know I have.
We’ve made it through 57 chapters, and now it’s time to chat once again. Whether you’ve been highlighting favorite lines ( I have been ), laughing out loud, or simply trying to figure out what on earth is happening, we would love to hear your thoughts.
Feel free to answer the discussion questions below, but don’t feel limited by them. Tell us what surprised you, what made you laugh, who you’re rooting for, or what theories you’re already forming. Did a particular scene stand out? Is there a character you’re loving (or loving to be annoyed by)?
And if you’re reading along later in the month, don’t be shy about jumping into the conversation. You can reply to someone’s comment, share your own thoughts, or answer any of the questions that catch your eye.
Most importantly, keep it fun. There are no wrong answers here—just book lovers talking books.
Happy discussing!
This week's discussion Questions:
1. How do you think communication would fix some of these issues?
2. Why do you think the heirloom is cracking?
3.Do you wish to see more of the other characters?
4. Did it surprise you that Arabella wanted to learn dark magic?
Now....lets go and finish up this book!!
I finished it! No spoilers from me but I love this book and cannot wait for Book 2. I love that Arabella leaned into her powers.
ReplyDeleteI cant wait until Sunday to hear your final thoughts. I have wanted to go on several times but wanted also to be good haha --Tee
Deletelol normally I would have breezed right through the book without stopping but I wanted to do it by the schedule this time. The romance picked up quickly these chapters and I was all for it. I think Arabella is growing as a character. I found it amusing that just as they began to get intimate they have to stop. I really wonder what is happening with the heirloom.
ReplyDeleteLet me get out my book, it is all marked up with things to speak about LOL. First I was glad this picked back up, the last chapters had the middle book syndrome going on, and I would have hated it to continue. Right off I loved how Kazimer handled the the army that came to collect Arabella, he made sure they knew that she was no longer " the Evenfall girl " she was Lady Arabella Blackmore, and he would take on the whole army, or kingdom for her, then he even admitted to Arabella, that he had her now because he wanted her there, not just as a prisoner. I also thought it was funny when he seemed a bit insulted where Arabella said she would sleep with him for like a political advantage, I mean that was the same reason she was there in the first place. I loved when they finally had sex, and all the chaos it caused, because right? It had to have chaos, thee are powerful people, and it did so much damage all through the manor...it made me think of Violet and Xaden and the curtains catching fire. Then the servants all knowing that they had been " Bonking " from the damage. I have no idea what is causing the damage to the heirloom, well I know, but not the reason, and I am looking forward to hearing the cause.I think my favorite part of these chapters is the banter between Kazimer and Arabella, even their little fights were funny. But here is a question I thought about and would love to see what you think---- At one point toward the end of the chapters they were playing around and it said " Slipping my hands uner her skirts"--- how do you see these skirts in your head? Are they more modern dressed or do you see them more like a full on Victorian Dressed type skirt? I know how I pictured them but as I read I also wondered your thoughts on them.
